Warangal lags in Aadhaar-EPIC linking
Warangal : Warangal district has been lagging behind in linking Aadhaar cards with electoral photo identity card, said Telangana State Election Commission’s Officer on Special Duty M A Faheem Saberi. The officer on Friday held a review meeting at District Collectorate on the progress on linking Aadhaar-EPIC in the district. Addressing the officials, the OSD asked them to expedite the process. Police station-wise data of 80 per cent Aadhaar card holders should first be acquired to commence the process of feeding and the remaining data should be linked in the next phase.
Joint Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil informed that booth-level officers were deputed to collect Aadhaar card data. Data of majority of voters have been collected but it was not uploaded online. This was the reason why the district was lagging behind the linking of EPIC-Aadhaar card. He directed the election registration officers and assistant electoral registration officers to ensure that the data collected should be uploaded online on daily basis without fail.
